If you’re a World of Warcraft player, you’re probably going to be either side of a rather large fence on this one.
It seems that Blizzard took E3 as a good time to announce a new feature that will be coming to the MMO with its next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King. The addition of player achievements has been a rumor for some time now, but it’s finally official. A web page, which touts “plenty” of new features on the way for the expansion, was also added to Blizzard’s site detailing the new feature.
According to the site; there will be over 500 individual achievements, broken into sections for PvP, Dungeons & Raids, Professions, Quests, Events, World Exploration, Reputation, and General. That’s a lot of achievements. If you’re apt to achieve all of these, then you’ll be granted a few “cosmetic rewards” such as pets and titles.
You can check up on your achievements and how others are doing at collecting them all on a new window that can be dropped down from the main action bar. Here, you’ll be able to see just how many points you’ve acquired and find out what you still need to do in order to complete other achievements.
So what do you think? Is this a welcome addition to your gameplay experience or are you going to stop playing now?
