I’m a power user of Gmail and have been since its inception. For that reason I’ve hit the wall in the past and even upgraded my storage limit. That said, the one thing that’s still missing is offline support, which is why I’m foaming at the mouth after reading that offline support could be coming in less than two months.
While you can use any e-mail program that supports IMAP to manage your Gmail folders efficiently and even POP to access Gmail (painfully!) nothing would beat a native desktop client for sorting through it in offline mode.
As for Google Calendar, it’s a great application and many people were anxiously awaiting its offline support, so this will be a welcome addition.
Now Google just has to offer both offline Gmail and Google Calendar to their Apps users and Microsoft loses a few more customers. Also, where’s the native Gmail application for iphone? I thought for sure that was going to ship day one.
