With a name like Moog, it has to be good, no? The creator of all types of unusual and wondrous music makers has stepped up with the Paul Vo Collector Edition guitar, a fanciful six-string that does quite a bit more than just light up whatever amp is lucky enough to receive its vibes. Constructed from premium grade mahogany, the instrument affords players full sustain, controlled sustain and mute modes to crank out all sorts of atypical tones, and just in case those few don’t get your juices flowin’, you’ll be happy to know that there’s loads more where that came from. Granted, this gem will cost you a stiff $6,495, but considering the amazing amount of utility found here, true musicians are apt to deem it a bargain.

The upcoming BlackBerry Thunder finally has a live shot, and while it does not cover all the internal specs, it does give us a good idea of what we have in store for us on the outside. Aside from the large touchscreen display, the Thunder has just about all the convenience (button-wise) as any current blackberry model. From the image we can see it has the standard send, end/power, menu and escape keys that you would expect. It also has a lock key in the upper left, a play/pause key on the upper right, as well as a left and right convenience key and external volume controls. It also clearly confirms that it will be headed to Verizon—at least initially. 3G iphone who?

CNET UK reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, “Its price is certainly premium and we expected the best features available. Instead, we were frazzled by the Arte’s offerings. For instance, there’s a 3.2-megapixel camera, but no flash. Kiss those romantic, candle-lit photos goodbye. You won’t be able to see anything unless the curtains catch on fire. Also, there’s Web browsing over 3G, but a relatively small screen, so compared to something like the N95, it doesn’t really lend itself to surfing.”

CallerID has become something that, while not always accurate we have come to take for granted. As nice as a service that Skype has been, it has been more than a little annoying to send or receive a SkypeOut call and see “+0000123456” on the CallerID display.

Now US based SkypeOut users will be able to configure their own number to display. Simply login to your Skype account and set the number by selecting Caller ID from the Account menu. You can set the number to reflect your personal cell number, which will send you an SMS message to confirm that you are not spoofing the ID display or if you already have a SkypeIn number that will be reflected by default.

Its nice that we here in the US will finally have an accurate CallerID display, something that European customers have apparently had for a while now. Its also a nice option to be able to have it reflect your cell phone, as my Skype account is already set to forward to my cell when I am not logged in.

Live leaked images are typically something that come as a welcomed event, and in the case of the X800 from Philips the handset has a decent look but sadly that is where it stops. It simply does not have the specs to match the design as its missing some important support.

The handset is missing something that many have just come to expect, especially considering it offers such a large (2.9-inch) touchscreen display. It is lacking support for WLAN, 3G and even EDGE.

This handset was officially announced by Philips back in May, along with the Xenium X-Connect, but they have still not released any further information regarding pricing or availability. This, as listed below in the specs is certainly not a handset that we can get all that excited over.

CNET UK reviews the Palm Centro and writes, “On the consumer front, there’s a basic 1.3-megapixel camera that doesn’t do anything spectacular. You can shoot pictures and video and send them to friends via Bluetooth, email or MMS. Palm hasn’t included an LED photo light or a xenon flash, which is unfortunate for those wishing to take pictures in less than sunny conditions.”

CNET UK reviews the Sony Ericsson W890i and writes, “One of our pet peeves about the W880i was that its 2-megapixel camera wasn’t fantastic. We’re glad to see a better, 3.2-megapixel snapper on the W890i. Sadly, this upgraded camera still doesn’t have a flash or LED photo light, so shots in low light don’t come out well…Its camera, however, isn’t substantial enough to replace your dedicated snapper. Without a flash or LED photo light, your best bet would be to stick to daylight pictures. There’s not an autofocus option either so close-up shots aren’t clear.”

If you’re tired of boring gray and black electronics this cute little butterfly will be a refreshing change.  That is if you’re female, I doubt many guys would be overly pleased by a brightly colored butterfly webcam.  Then again I’m sure there are at least a couple exceptions to that.  The webcam easily attaches to the back of your laptop and peers over the top of it to catch a glimpse of you while you type away at whoever you may be broadcasting to.

It also features a nice bendy neck giving you angles that some webcams might not want to bend to catch.  In addition to being able to fasten to your laptop it can also sit on its stand.  Which isn’t really all that different from every other webcam on this earth.  The cam comes in both blue as well as green and is USB powered.  Thankfully, it isn’t overpriced either.  It’s being sold for $20, so anyone with the urge to have such an overly girly webcam won’t have a problem dealing with the price.  You can pick it up at USB Geek which seems to have every possible bit of USB devices you could possible desire.

While the FCC images usually keep most of the details tight and secure, this latest bit of information seems to be holding a little more than usual. We have here what we can only guess is the successor to the Shadow, which is officially known as the HTC CONV100 and will hit the market as the Shadow II.

While the details are light, it looks like the Shadow II will offer up a nice set of improvements and include an 1100mAh battery, as well as Windows Mobile 6.1 out of the box. In addition, it is also expected to include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and come in either silver or black. As you would expect with the FCC information, pricing and availability timeframe still remains as much as mystery as it was before.

The Eclipse Intuit Phone may very well be just a concept, but its one that is hard to deny has some good looks. In the past, as nice an idea as a solar powered gadget would be, the overall look has not really been visually pleasing, however these images hardly reflect that feeling.

In addition to the “chemically based thin solar skin” that will be able to power your phone, the Eclipse Intuit also a 5-megapixel camera with built-in photo editing software, a large touchscreen display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard with tactile feedback.

The Eclipse Intuit also appears to offer up a variety of ‘buttons’ on the top depending on which mode the handset is in. Everything ranging from left/right buttons with a navigation pad to dedicated camera buttons when in camera mode.

Sadly this is nothing more than a concept, but this is one that would be really nice to see come to life.
