The Toshiba Sportio is the latest addition to Japanese carrier KDDi’s lineup. The phone which is rather fat helps you keep in shape, it has a motion sensor counts the calories burned in a workout and using GPS it plots your jogging route along with average speed and running logs. The phone can stream music to compatible Bluetooth headphones with the ‘BEAT RUN’ function which adjusts the tempo as per your workout. Coming to the specs the phone has 2.2 inch TFT (240 x 320), 2 Megapixel camera, GPS and 1 Seg Tuner. The Sportio will be available in five colors orange, white, black, red and green. The candybar phone measures 52×93×13.7mm and weighs 86 grams.

Shortly after the space shuttle Discovery delivered a new pump for the jury-rigged commode, Oleg Kononenko — who we hear is now widely regarded as a galactic hero — spent around two hours installing the hardware and running a trio of tests. After everything was tightened up and functioning as advertised, the crew presumably relieved themselves just before carrying on with the installation of the recently acquired Kibo lab. Crisis averted.

We didn’t think it’d take too terribly long to make it happen, but Albatron is taking Microsoft’s heed and is already demonstrating a prototype 22-inch monitor with multi-touch, intended for use with whatever Windows 7 will eventually come to be called. The early verdict on the 1680 x 1050 display? TG Daily says it “works much better than we expected,” but we said the same thing about Surface when it debuted last year — so maybe it simply works as well as it should.

Tired of bringing two phones everywhere you go?  Your prayers may have just been answered by E-TEN’s latest offering, the Glofiish DX900.

Most people who carry two separate phones, one for work and one for personal, know how much of a hassle that can be, especially since they probably also carry other devices such as an mp3 player, a notebook, and quite possibly a gaming device.  Eliminating even one of these requisite devices without losing anything would be a blessing from the heavens itself.

The DX900 claims to be the first dual-SIM Windows mobile device that runs both HSDPA 3G data and EDGE.  A cool feature is the DX900’s ability to “dual-standby,” meaning both SIM cards are simultaneously active, therefore dismissing the need to switch between active SIM’s.

Under the hood, the unit reportedly runs under a 533 MHz Samsung CPU with 256MB ROM and half that for RAM.  The 2.8-inch touchscreen display and the 3-megapixel auto-focus camera are a nice touch. A secondary QVGA camera on the front allows for video calls.

With the dual-SIM option, touchscreen and other features it no wonder that the Glofiish DX900 took home the “Best Choice” award at the 2008 Taiwan Computex show.
